MOAYERI Abbas

Abbas MOAYERI, is a painter, miniaturist and sculptor, born in Iran.

He was the pupil of several Iranian masters: Master Hossein Behzâd, the famous Persian miniaturist from the beginning of the 20th century, the painter Master Esmaïl Ashtiani and Master Mohammad Ali Zavier.

In 1960 he obtained his Baccalaureate in "Traditional Arts" at the School of Fine Arts in Tehran.

In 1967, his Degree in "Decorative Sculpture" at the Faculty of Decorative Arts in Tehran.

In 1968, his Masters in "Decorative Sculpture", excellent mention with congratulations from the jury.

Between 1967- 1970, MOAYERI became professor of Persian Miniature at the School of Fine Arts in Tehran and successor of Master Behzâd.

 

Abbas MOAYERI has been living in Paris since the end of 1970. Anxious to safeguard this artistic tradition of Iran, he creates courses in Persian Miniature at the “A.D.A.C. »(Association for the Development of Cultural Animation) of the city of Paris, between 1984 and 2007.

At the same time, from 1989 to 1997, he was professor of Persian Miniature at the “A.M.O.R.C. ", in Paris.

Since 2007, he has been teaching Persian Miniature at “Paris Ateliers”, (the former A.D.A.C.). He thus transmits his precious experience to all those who love and admire this form of painting.

But, also he gives numerous conferences on the techniques and the history of the Persian Miniature.

 

MOAYERI, moreover engaged in a pictorial research, experimenting an original way of creation nourished by centuries of Persian Art and translated by a Western technique which allows the non-Iranian layman to enter into the transfigured symbolism of a world marvelous of legend, poetry and ancient wisdom.

His career is marked by numerous distinctions, prizes and active participations in major international exhibitions.
